Business Development Officer – Crates (KES 120,000 Gross)

About the role

Our client, a leading plastics packaging company, is looking for a dynamic Business Development Officer to drive sales of stackable crates and other plastic packaging solutions. The role focuses on expanding market presence, acquiring new customers, and growing existing accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales of stackable crates and plastic packaging solutions.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities while expanding existing customer accounts.
• Conduct customer visits, presentations, and negotiations to close sales.
• Prepare and track sales pipelines and revenue targets.
• Gather market intelligence on competitors, pricing, and emerging opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver customer requirements efficiently.
• Achieve assigned sales, volume, and profitability targets.
• Promote value‑added products such as IML and stretch solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
• 3–5 years of sales or business development experience in the plastic packaging industry.
• Strong understanding of rigid and flexible packaging products.
• Experience with stackable crates or returnable packaging solutions is highly desirable.
• Exposure to IML and/or stretch products is an advantage.
• Experience selling to FMCG, beverage, dairy, horticulture, logistics or manufacturing sectors is a plus.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation and customer relationship management abilities.
• Highly commercial, target‑driven and results‑oriented.
