Business Officer – Garissa

About the role

Premier Bank is seeking a Business Officer to develop and manage corporate relationships in the Garissa region. The role focuses on delivering profitable financing solutions, ensuring compliance, and strengthening the bank’s market position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop long‑term, cost‑effective asset business with reputable companies to maximise profitability.
• Act as a consultant to senior client management, evaluating and implementing financing strategies.
• Maintain regular contact with assigned customers to manage expectations and promote Premier Bank services.
• Handle day‑to‑day corporate transactions in liaison with branch managers while managing exposure risk.
• Identify and exploit cross‑selling opportunities that align bank products with customer needs.
• Build and maintain a dynamic pipeline of new profitable customers in target sectors.
• Ensure strict compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) requirements.
• Prepare periodic performance reports on marketing activities.
• Structure and negotiate finance or lease agreements according to guidelines.
• Provide relationship management and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of business customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field.
• Professional banking operations training (e.g., AKIB, ACIB, Business Development).
• Strong understanding of corporate financing and banking products.
• Ability to manage client relationships and meet compliance standards.
