Clerk of Works – Construction Project (12‑month contract)

About the role

Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is undertaking the construction of a warehousing facility and office block in Kisumu County. The Clerk of Works will report to the CEO and ensure that all construction activities comply with approved designs, specifications, safety standards and quality requirements throughout the 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor works on the construction site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect and verify materials delivered and used on site for conformity to specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor workmanship across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing works.
• Maintain detailed site records, including daily diaries, defect registers and instruction books for architects and consultants.
• Act as a liaison between the architect, project manager, consultants, contractors and management, communicating instructions and resolving issues for smooth project execution.
• Report deviations, defects and non‑conformities promptly and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
