About the role
The Community Oral Health Officer (COHO) will work within Penda Health’s dental units to provide essential oral health services to underserved communities in Kenya. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering both preventive and curative dental care.
Key responsibilities
- Examine patients, diagnose common oral conditions, and deliver preventive and curative care.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices that encourage lasting behaviour change.
- Collaborate with dentists and the broader care team to integrate oral health into overall patient management.
- Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and ensure compliance with clinical standards.
Required profile
- Full‑time availability.
- Previous experience in a dental or oral health setting.
- Commitment to improving oral health access in community settings.
Required skills
- Oral examination and assessment.
- Dental diagnosis of common conditions.
- Delivery of preventive and curative dental care.
- Patient education on oral hygiene.
