Consultant – Project Finance Expert (PERN)

About the role

The African Development Bank is seeking a senior consultant to provide project‑finance expertise for the SEFA programme. The role focuses on renewable‑energy and energy‑access transactions across Africa, with a strong emphasis on blended finance structures, concessional resources and the mobilisation of private capital.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation, appraisal and execution of renewable‑energy and energy‑access projects.
• Design and implement blended‑finance solutions that combine concessional and private‑sector funding.
• Analyse project financial models and assess risk profiles.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment of financing strategies.
• Provide technical advice on the mobilisation of private capital for project implementation.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in project finance, preferably within the renewable‑energy sector.
• Demonstrated expertise in structuring blended‑finance transactions and working with concessional resources.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience in financial appraisal of large‑scale projects.
