Cook II

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Cook II in Mombasa, Kenya. The Cook II prepares and serves nutritionally sound, high-quality meals, snacks and beverages while keeping food safety and sanitation standards in a professional and welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a wide variety of meals, including items requiring extensive and complex preparation, and support snacks, fast food and beverages as needed.
• Ensure menu offerings meet nutritional guidelines and maintain high standards of quality, taste and presentation.
• Follow recipes, portion guidelines and preparation instructions accurately.
• Maintain food preparation, storage, serving and eating areas at the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
• Identify and mark unavailable items on the menu and communicate shortages appropriately.
• Monitor ingredient quality and safety and ensure proper storage to prevent spoilage.
• Collaborate with other food service staff to meet production schedules and keep customers satisfied.
• Complete mandatory food sanitation training: four hours within the first 30 days of employment and four hours annually.

Required profile

• At least two years of satisfactory experience preparing and serving complex menu items.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid passport for at least one year at the time of hiring; ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials and country-specific visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and comply with them during deployment.
• Read, speak and understand English well enough to carry out the contract and follow emergency procedures.
