Entry-Level Supply Chain Management Assistant

About the role

The Financial Reporting Centre (FRC) in Nairobi is recruiting a Supply Chain Management Assistant at the entry and training grade. The post is open to one person and is supervised by a designated supervisor. FRC is a government agency established under the Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act, whose main objective is to help identify proceeds of crime and combat money laundering, terrorism financing and proliferation financing.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake market research, surveys and analyses
• Implement procurement plans and process purchase requisitions
• Take part in sourcing, supplier evaluation and rating, inviting offers, negotiations and contracting
• Draft procurement and disposal plans and budgets
• Draft bid awards, tender advertisements and letters of notification after tender evaluation
• Prepare minutes of tender opening exercises for the tender evaluation committee
• Identify demand and plan and procure items needed by user directorates and divisions
• Inspect and verify items received by the relevant committee
• Verify payment documents for goods, works and services supplied by suppliers and service providers
• Update contract details in government portals and FRC websites

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce (Supplies Management option), Procurement and Logistics or another relevant qualification from a recognised institution
• Membership of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or a relevant professional body, in good standing
• Proficiency in computer applications
