Finance Officer / Finance Specialist

About the role

The Finance Officer/Finance Specialist will support the finance function of a company operating in the Mining, Energy & Metals sector. This full‑time position is based in Westlands, Nairobi and involves managing invoicing, tax compliance and financial reporting for local operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage local invoicing, payment records, expense tracking and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Prepare and submit tax filings, documentation and ensure compliance with Kenyan tax regulations.
• Process payroll, expense reimbursements, supplier payments and logistics‑related expenses.
• Coordinate with the corporate finance department and provide required financial reports.
• Support customer order management, payment collection, product dispatch and invoice handling.
• Liaise with banks, tax authorities, auditors and external accountants.
• Prepare monthly financial, expense and exception reports.
• Maintain contracts, invoices and payment documentation in an organized manner.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation or a related field.
• Minimum two years of local experience in accounting, finance, taxation or as a finance assistant.
• Familiarity with Kenyan invoicing, tax filing procedures, reimbursement processes and accounting practices.
• Strong attention to detail and awareness of compliance requirements.
• Good English communication skills.
• Experience in renewable energy, electrical products, trading, warehousing or distribution is an advantage.
