Food Technology Technician

About the role

The Food Technology Technician will support practical training and laboratory operations at The Kitale National Polytechnic. The role assists trainees in acquiring competencies in food processing, preservation and quality control, following the CBET curriculum standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist trainers in delivering practical lessons in food technology.
• Prepare and maintain food‑technology laboratory equipment and materials.
• Enforce food‑safety and laboratory‑hygiene standards during practical sessions.
• Guide trainees through food processing, testing and quality‑control procedures.
• Maintain inventory of raw materials, reagents and laboratory equipment.
• Support CBET‑based assessment of trainees’ practical competencies.

Required profile

• Ability to support practical training in food technology according to CBET curriculum.
• Willingness to work closely with trainers and trainees in a laboratory environment.
