French‑Speaking Obstetrician‑Gynecologist for UN Deployments

About the role

CAN​ADEM is seeking experienced French‑speaking obstetrician‑gynecologists to join its expert roster for short‑term deployments (3‑6 months) with United Nations agencies worldwide. Candidates will be deployed to low‑resource, humanitarian settings where they will provide essential obstetric and newborn care, support emergency response teams, and help implement sexual and reproductive health services in crises.

Required profile

• Valid Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Active, unrestricted medical licence in the home country and ability to obtain temporary registration in the host country.
• Minimum 3‑5 years post‑residency clinical experience in OB/GYN, including independent emergency obstetric surgeries.
• Demonstrated experience working in emergency or humanitarian contexts, such as low‑resource settings, disaster response, or conflict zones.
• Fluency in French and English (Arabic knowledge is a plus).
• Commitment to UN SEAH policies and completion of the mandatory PSEA online course.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for sexual and reproductive health in crises.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) signals and guidelines.
• Familiarity with WHO, UNFPA and international humanitarian health standards.
• Ability to operate safely and effectively in challenging, resource‑limited environments.
• Compliance with SEAH (Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, Harassment) prevention and response protocols.
