Grants and Compliance Officer

About the role

The Grants and Compliance Officer will lead the full grant lifecycle, from proposal development to close‑out, ensuring donor‑funded projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual obligations. This position works closely with program, finance, MEAL and communications teams to uphold the organization’s accountability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate administration of assigned grants throughout the entire lifecycle, including award, implementation, monitoring, reporting and close‑out.
• Maintain grant management systems, tracking agreements, implementation plans, reporting calendars and compliance trackers.
• Prepare and submit grant amendments, budget revisions, no‑cost extensions and close‑out documentation.
• Review grant agreements and donor requirements, advising program teams on contractual and compliance obligations.
• Monitor adherence to donor regulations, organizational policies, safeguarding standards and statutory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits, donor reviews and strengthen compliance processes.
• Build staff capacity on donor regulations and organizational policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in grants management and donor compliance, preferably in the non‑profit or development sector.
• Strong understanding of grant financial monitoring, reporting and audit processes.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and travel monthly to field offices.
