Head of Department – Nursing & Health Programs

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic nursing professional to lead our Nursing, Perioperative Theater Technology and Health Care Assistant programmes. The Head of Department will provide academic, clinical and administrative leadership to ensure high‑quality education and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set strategic direction and oversee daily operations of all academic programmes.
• Ensure curriculum delivery and mentor students in line with accredited standards.
• Coordinate clinical placements and simulation‑based training sessions.
• Prepare departmental reports and support accreditation and compliance activities.
• Foster a collaborative, high‑performance team culture aligned with organisational values.
• Engage with external stakeholders such as hospitals, health institutions and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Midwifery (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in nursing.
• At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience in an academic or clinical setting.
• Valid registration and practice licence with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
