Head of Investment Operations and Enterprise Sourcing

About the role

The Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF) seeks a senior leader to head its Investment Operations and Enterprise Sourcing function. Reporting to the Director of Programs, you will build and manage the platform that underpins AECF’s high‑performing investment portfolio across agribusiness and renewable energy.

Key responsibilities

• Design, market, and run enterprise sourcing competitions end‑to‑end, ensuring integrity, quality and efficiency.
• Continuously improve competition design using yield data, applicant quality and conversion metrics.
• Develop and maintain complementary sourcing channels through outreach, ecosystem partnerships and co‑investor referrals.
• Oversee sourcing infrastructure, including CRM, pipeline tracking, marketing campaigns and application management platforms.
• Provide accurate, up‑to‑date pipeline data for Portfolio Management teams.
• Apply strong investment discipline, financial analysis and process rigour across the full deal lifecycle, from sourcing to Investment Committee decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience in investment operations, financial analysis and managing full deal cycles.
• Demonstrated ability to design and run competitive sourcing processes.
• Experience working with sector leads and cross‑functional teams in high‑risk, frontier markets.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
