Head of Operations

About the role

The Head of Operations will lead the day‑to‑day activities across production, quality, engineering, administration and logistics. Reporting to senior management, this role ensures that all functions work together efficiently to meet operational targets and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of production, quality, engineering, administration and fleet/logistics.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth, efficient processes.
• Set operational targets, monitor KPIs and report performance.
• Lead managers and supervisors, fostering accountability and teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001 standards.
• Drive implementation and improvement of quality and food‑safety systems.
• Manage the operations budget, track costs and address variances.
• Identify and execute initiatives to boost productivity, efficiency, quality and cost control.
• Develop systems, processes and structures that support business growth.
• Maintain equipment, machinery and vehicle availability.
• Prepare regular operational reports for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Manufacturing or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of operations management experience, preferably in manufacturing, food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Hands‑on experience with FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001 implementation.
• Proven track record managing production, quality, engineering, administration and logistics together.
• Experience leading managers or supervisors and owning an operational budget or P&L.
• Background in an SME or fast‑growing organization is a plus.
