Head of Programs – Anticipatory Action Training Consultant

About the role
The Head of Programs (HoP) will act as a consultant to design and deliver training on Anticipatory Action (AA) for SAPCONE staff and selected partners in Lodwar, Kenya. The role focuses on building capacity that can be cascaded to local communities, ensuring effective implementation of AA initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training sessions on Anticipatory Action for SAPCONE staff and partner organisations.
- Support post‑training activities, including the initial rollout of AA measures at community level.
- Document training processes, capture lessons learned and share findings with relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate exit meetings with communities to assess outcomes and gather feedback.
- Coordinate with programme teams to ensure alignment of training with overall project objectives.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in delivering training or capacity‑building programmes, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Familiarity with Anticipatory Action concepts and practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, partners and community members in Kenya.
- Strong facilitation, communication and documentation skills.
- Willingness to travel to Lodwar and remote field sites as required.
