Head of Quality – Aircraft Maintenance Organization

About the role

The AMO (Aircraft Maintenance Organization) Head of Quality leads the quality function for AIM AIR’s maintenance operations across East and Central Africa. Reporting to the General Manager, this senior position ensures compliance with civil aviation regulations, internal standards, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the AMO Quality Management System, coordinate internal and external audits, and manage corrective action plans.
• Maintain and update the Quality Manual and all AMO manuals to meet current civil aviation regulations and manufacturer instructions.
• Liaise with the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority on approvals, surveillance audits, and certification renewals.
• Review shop output, monitor maintenance authorisations, and verify the accuracy of maintenance records.
• Manage the quality feedback system, contractor agreements, and respond to audit findings from clients and suppliers.

Required profile

• Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AMEL) or a degree/diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.
• Minimum seven years of aviation maintenance experience, including at least three years in a quality role.
• Excellent verbal communication in English and Kiswahili and strong written English skills.
• God‑fearing, trustworthy, servant‑hearted, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) in an aviation context.
