Head of Quality (AMO)

About the role

The Africa Inland Mission’s Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO) is seeking an experienced Head of Quality to lead its Quality Management System and ensure compliance with civil aviation regulations and internal standards. Reporting to the AIM AIR General Manager, you will oversee quality assurance activities across the AMO and its foreign partners.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and continuously improve the AMO Quality Management System (QMS).
• Coordinate internal and external audit schedules, prepare audit findings and follow‑up actions.
• Train and supervise internal auditors and the Assistant Head of Quality.
• Conduct risk analyses, approve corrective action plans and monitor their implementation.
• Review and update the Quality Manual and other AMO manuals to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage contractor and service level agreements to meet quality standards.
• Liaise with department heads, Safety Action Group and Safety Review Board on quality matters.
• Oversee the quality feedback system and ensure timely reporting of findings.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years (84 months) experience in aviation quality assurance or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of civil aviation regulations, aircraft manufacturer instructions and QMS principles.
• Proven ability to lead audits, risk assessments and corrective action processes.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with cross‑functional teams.
