HR Business Partner – Global (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Human Resources Business Partner will support UN Women’s mission by providing strategic HR advice and operational oversight across the Nairobi office and regional affiliates. Reporting to the Deputy Director & Chief HR Client Services, the role ensures that HR policies, recruitment, benefits, and employee relations are aligned with organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the global implementation of new HR policies, guidelines, procedures and SOPs, adapting them to the regional context.
• Monitor and ensure proper application of HR policies and provide advice as needed.
• Contribute to HR strategic planning, goal setting and annual work planning.
• Guide managers and staff on recruitment, benefits, entitlements and staff separation matters.
• Provide timely guidance on recruitment and contract policies to current and prospective staff.
• Oversee staff and affiliate personnel compliance with relevant policies.
• Respond to audit recommendations in HR and track their implementation.
• Coordinate with outsourced service providers for appointment administration and benefits management.
• Administer contracts, benefits, entitlements and related HR matters within the portfolio.
• Project and monitor vacant posts, leading recruitment for national and international staff up to P5 level.

Required profile

• Proven experience in human resources management, preferably in an international or UN environment.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, recruitment processes, benefits administration, and staff contracts.
• Ability to advise senior managers on HR matters and support workforce planning.
• Experience handling audit findings and coordinating with external service providers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
