HR Officer – Private Hospital (Nakuru)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive HR Officer to join a busy private hospital in Nakuru. The role involves managing the full employee lifecycle, supporting performance management, and providing HR advisory services to ensure the hospital operates with an engaged and compliant workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Recruitment & onboarding: post job advertisements, manage the applicant tracking system, screen and interview candidates.
• Performance management & talent development: coordinate the performance cycle, from setting objectives to conducting mid‑year and year‑end reviews.
• HR advisory & employee relations: act as the first point of contact for employee queries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
• Workforce planning, administration & HR analytics: prepare HR forecasts, staffing plans, and recommendations for optimal staff establishment.
• Employee lifecycle management: support transfers, promotions, and off‑boarding processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least three years of experience as an HR Officer, preferably in a fast‑paced organization or healthcare setting.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP) is an added advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems.
• Strong knowledge of performance management cycles.
• Ability to provide HR advisory and employee‑relations support.
• Experience in workforce planning and HR analytics.
