Human Resources Officer (Contract) – Kisumu

About the role

The Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu is seeking a Contract Human Resources Officer to support its growing operations. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the role focuses on delivering HR plans, managing data, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day HR functions across assigned business units.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of HR policies, plans and procedures.
• Assist in forecasting talent pipeline needs aligned with business strategy.
• Participate in recruitment processes to secure required capabilities.
• Manage HR projects defined in the annual operational plan and contribute to cross‑functional initiatives.
• Provide advisory services to department heads on talent management, performance, employee relations and change management.
• Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and hospital regulations.
• Develop and monitor workforce statistics such as turnover, leave and absence.
• Maintain an efficient filing system for HR documents and staff records.
• Support payroll administration and track contract expiry dates.
• Assist with induction, orientation and probation monitoring.

Required profile

• Qualified and experienced HR professional.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, labour regulations and collective bargaining agreements.
• Excellent organizational and data‑management abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with department heads and supervisors.
