Inside Sales Executive – Freight Forwarding

About the role

Career Directions Limited is hiring an Inside Sales Executive for its freight forwarding business in Nairobi. The role generates new business, manages customer relationships and converts leads into long-term clients, acting as a bridge between customers, internal stakeholders and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new sales through outbound prospecting, cold calling, email campaigns, CRM data and follow-up on inbound enquiries, and build a healthy sales pipeline.
• Engage customers to understand their needs and recommend supply chain and logistics solutions, responding promptly to enquiries.
• Prepare commercial proposals, coordinate quotations, pricing approvals, contracts and onboarding, and complete customer due diligence (KYC) before onboarding.
• Maintain customer relationships, identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities, and escalate proposals for internal approval.
• Keep CRM records of interactions, opportunities and follow-ups, and prepare sales activity and pipeline reports.
• Work with Business Development, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service and Finance teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in inside sales, business development, account management or a similar commercial role in logistics and supply chain.
• Demonstrated experience in freight forwarding and contract logistics operations.
• Strong understanding of logistics services, CRM and commercial sales processes.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills; self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
