Internal Audit Manager – Global Agriculture Research Organization

About the role

The Internal Audit Manager will lead risk‑based internal audit and advisory engagements across the CGIAR System Organization and its partnership activities, splitting time between system‑wide assurance and collaborative partnership audits.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute risk‑based internal audits and advisory assignments to evaluate governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
• Build effective relationships with senior leadership, centre executives, governance bodies, external auditors, and donors to align assurance activities.
• Plan, supervise, and manage audit engagements, including co‑sourced resources or external consultants, ensuring quality, timelines, and practical recommendations.
• Monitor implementation of management action plans and enhance audit methodologies, data‑analytics tools, and quality‑assurance processes.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Accounting, Finance, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, ACCA, CA or CISA.
• Progressively responsible experience leading complex internal or external audit engagements in international, multilateral, development, research or NGO environments.
• Proven experience applying risk‑based auditing methodologies and engaging with senior leadership and governance bodies.
• Fluency in English; additional language knowledge is an advantage.
