KYC Analyst

About the role

Equiti is seeking a diligent KYC Analyst to join its Compliance team in Nairobi. The role focuses on efficiently onboarding new clients while ensuring strict adherence to Kenya’s AML/CFT and CMA regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage KYC account opening for new and existing clients, collecting and recording required documentation.
• Act as the liaison between the Sales team and Compliance, facilitating smooth client onboarding.
• Perform client due diligence and periodic reviews to assess AML/CFT risk and update risk scores.
• Produce monthly and semi‑annual MI reports on onboarded customers for the Head of Compliance.
• Review the account opening process to ensure compliance with Kenya’s AML/CFT and CMA regulations.
• Conduct sanctions and PEP screening on all new accounts and promptly escalate positive matches to the MLRO.

Required profile

• Proven ability to work independently while handling multiple responsibilities with high accuracy.
• Team player with excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication abilities.
