Lecturer – Technology Education & Computer Studies

About the role

The University seeks a dedicated Lecturer to deliver and evaluate undergraduate and graduate programmes in Technology Education and Computer Studies. The role combines teaching, research, mentorship and community engagement within a dynamic academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Conduct research that informs knowledge, policy and practice.
• Develop proposals to secure research funding.
• Disseminate findings through peer‑reviewed journals, monographs, policy briefs, conferences and other creative outputs.
• Innovate, invent and register patents.
• Supervise and examine student projects, tutorials, practicums and field attachments.
• Provide mentorship and career counselling to students and junior staff.
• Initiate and execute research projects.
• Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development and review.
• Engage industry and stakeholders for consultancy services.
• Establish partnerships, linkages and donor networks for community projects.
• Deliver professional and community service.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in the relevant specialization, OR a Master’s degree with at least three years of university teaching experience or six years of research/industry experience.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body where applicable.
• Demonstrated ability in university teaching and research.
• Active participation in conferences and scholarly forums.
• Minimum of six publication points, with at least four from refereed journal papers for Master’s holders (or two for PhD holders). Additional two points from refereed journals for Research Fellow positions.
