Mathematics Teacher - Educational Research Study

About the role

Tatu City’s AI Learning Lab seeks a qualified Mathematics Teacher to support a structured educational research study involving Grade 7 and Grade 8 learners. The study compares teacher‑assisted learning with AI‑assisted learning using Microsoft Copilot while learners practice independently on Khan Academy.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate two 40‑minute mathematics learning sessions per week for a 12‑week study (24 sessions total).
• Support learners using the project’s standardized Common Help Ladder framework, providing brief (2‑3 minute) coaching interventions that promote reasoning and self‑correction.
• Encourage independent problem‑solving through guided questioning rather than giving direct answers.
• Deliver the approved Grade 7 or Grade 8 Khan Academy mathematics pathway, covering topics such as proportional relationships, equations and expressions, linear relationships, geometry and measurement.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment and ensure all instructional support follows the approved research protocols.

• Skilled at guiding learners through questioning and coaching rather than direct instruction.

Required skills

• Experience with Microsoft Copilot for AI‑assisted learning.
• Familiarity with Khan Academy mathematics curriculum.
