Merchandiser

About the role

Mini Group is hiring a full-time Merchandiser based in Nairobi (Westlands). The role covers promoting and selling company products to retail outlets, maintaining stock and pricing compliance, and reporting on sales performance within an assigned territory.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve allocated daily, weekly and monthly sales targets within the assigned territory.
• Promote, merchandise and sell products to retail outlets in line with approved sales and merchandising standards.
• Execute approved route plans to ensure effective outlet coverage and optimal product distribution.
• Monitor stock levels, maintain accurate inventory and support proper product rotation at outlets.
• Verify and maintain correct pricing, and report pricing discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain high standards of shelf presentation, cleanliness and product placement according to approved planograms.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand market coverage and increase sales.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
• Prepare daily field execution reports and other sales documentation on time.
• Monitor competitors' activities, pricing, promotions and market trends, and feed back to management.
• Comply with company policies, health and safety requirements and the Code of Conduct, and safeguard company assets.

Required profile

• KCSE certificate.
• Certificate or diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field is an added advantage.
• At least one year of experience in merchandising, sales, retail operations or FMCG distribution is preferred.

Required skills

• Selling and negotiation skills.
• Customer relationship management and good communication skills.
• Merchandising, product display, stock management and inventory control.
• Basic report writing and computer literacy, including mobile sales applications.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
