New Business Development Internship

About the role

The New Business Development Intern will join Save the Children’s East and Southern Africa Regional and Multi‑Country Programmes team in Nairobi. The role supports resource mobilisation, donor research and proposal development across 12 countries in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Track and analyse upcoming funding opportunities, create a calendar of prospects and share intelligence with the Head of RMCP.
• Maintain knowledge‑management files on SharePoint and other SCI platforms to ensure easy access for the team.
• Assist in drafting concept notes, technical briefs, communication materials and proof‑read them for donor engagement.
• Support coordination of multi‑country proposal processes, including organising kick‑off meetings, following up on action points and contributing to non‑technical sections of proposals.

Required profile

• Recently completed or currently studying a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, International Relations, Development or a related field.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English, with good interpersonal and networking abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and analysis.
• Strong command of Microsoft Word for document preparation.
• Experience using SharePoint or similar collaboration platforms.
