Operations Manager – Freight Forwarding

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our clearing and forwarding operations in Nairobi. The role requires a results‑oriented professional with strong knowledge of customs, logistics and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end clearing and forwarding processes, ensuring timely and compliant cargo clearance.
• Manage daily operations for imports, exports and transit shipments.
• Build and maintain relationships with KRA Customs, port authorities, shipping lines, airlines, CFS operators and other regulatory agencies.
• Ensure compliance with customs, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, mentor and supervise the operations team, monitoring KPIs and driving process improvements.
• Resolve operational challenges and customer escalations promptly while controlling operational costs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a clearing and forwarding company, with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures, import/export documentation and freight forwarding operations.
• Proven experience managing stakeholder relationships with KRA Customs, Kenya Ports Authority, Kenya Revenue Authority and other agencies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
