Partnerships Officer – International Financial Institutions Consultant

About the role

The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a senior consultant to lead partnership and resource mobilisation efforts with International Financial Institutions (IFIs) in Nairobi. The role will provide strategic guidance to expand WFP’s collaborations, advocacy, and funding streams to support its humanitarian programmes in Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive partnership strategy with IFIs, including the World Bank, African Development Bank and other multilateral donors.
• Lead resource mobilisation activities, preparing proposals, concept notes and briefing materials for high‑level engagements.
• Coordinate advocacy initiatives to raise awareness of WFP’s priorities and secure political and financial support.
• Provide technical advice to the Country Office on partnership governance, risk management and performance monitoring.
• Represent WFP in meetings, conferences and donor forums, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in partnership development, resource mobilisation or donor relations within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Proven track record of working with multilateral financial institutions and securing large‑scale funding.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment.
