Principal Planning Officer (Grade 4) - Head of Planning Division

About the role

The Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority (KNRA) is recruiting one Principal Planning Officer (Grade 4) to head its Planning Division and report to the Director General. The post is permanent and pensionable, with salary and benefits attached to KNRA Grade 4.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the development of the Authority's Strategic Plan and Annual Budget and work plans
• Coordinate research and prepare quarterly and annual performance reports on KNRA programmes
• Provide quality planning assistance and analysis, and produce quality planning reports
• Assess the strengths and weaknesses of policy options and analyse policy recommendations from various departments
• Prepare policy position papers and develop tools for corporate monitoring and evaluation
• Carry out corporate monitoring and evaluation and coordinate monitoring of the performance contracting process
• Participate in developing fund-raising strategies and prepare materials and schedules for stakeholder seminars, workshops and programmes

Required profile

• Minimum of eight years of relevant work experience, including three in a supervisory role
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Strategic Management, Business Development, Development Studies, Business Administration or another relevant discipline, or equivalent qualification
• A Master's degree in the same fields is an added advantage
• Completion of a management course of at least four weeks from a recognised institution
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
