Pro Bono Hydraulics Engineer Consultation for Water Project

About the role

Hearts for Change is seeking a qualified civil or hydraulics engineer to provide a short, pro‑bono consultation for a clean‑water project serving 180 school children in Kenya. The expert will help the team decide the safest water source, choose an appropriate filtration system, and verify pump performance before installation.

Key responsibilities

• Assess whether the existing well or tap water source is safer to filter.
• Recommend a filtration system suited to the local context and resources.
• Evaluate the current pump’s pressure capacity and advise on replacement if needed.

Required profile

• Degree or professional experience in civil, hydraulic, or environmental engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with water supply, filtration, or pump systems.
• Ability to give practical, low‑resource recommendations.
• Available for a brief remote consultation (on‑site optional).
• Non‑profit or international development experience is a plus.
