Regional Mentor – Northern Region

About the role

Sun King is seeking a Regional Mentor for the Northern region of Kenya to lead on‑the‑ground training and capability building for its field agents. The role combines sales coaching, curriculum design and hands‑on mentorship to boost product knowledge, sales performance and customer service across a widely dispersed network.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and continuously improve onboarding and refresher training programmes for field agents covering product knowledge, sales techniques, objection handling, collections and customer service.
• Conduct “train‑the‑trainer” sessions for Area Mentors and Cluster Leaders and provide side‑by‑side coaching during field visits.
• Localise training materials into relevant languages and adapt content to zone‑specific market dynamics.
• Use sales and field data to identify performance gaps and tailor coaching interventions.
• Leverage digital tools such as WhatsApp Business, LMS platforms and content authoring software to enhance learning delivery.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience in Learning & Development, sales training or field coaching within solar, electronics, telecoms or FMCG sectors.
• 3+ years of direct sales experience with a proven track record of mentoring peers.
• Strong technical understanding of Solar Home Systems, inverters, batteries and basic electrical concepts.
• Fluent in English and at least one local language (e.g., Kiswahili, Meru, Somali).
• Willingness to travel 80 %+ across the region for face‑to‑face training.
