Retail Operations & Governance Manager

About the role

The Retail Operations & Governance Manager acts as the Group control tower for retail performance across Airtel Africa. You will drive consistent improvement in store productivity, operational efficiency, execution quality, and overall performance outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Own visibility and analysis of retail performance across all operating companies, identifying under‑performance and diagnosing root causes.
• Support markets in translating Group priorities into actionable execution plans, facilitating best‑practice sharing and building a community of performance excellence.
• Design and lead transformation initiatives focused on sales productivity, store efficiency, cost reduction, and customer‑experience enhancement.
• Generate performance diagnostics and insights, translating data into actionable business recommendations for leadership.
• Define Group‑level standards for inventory management, stock availability, loss prevention, and cost efficiency, monitoring cross‑market performance.
• Establish execution quality standards, audit frameworks, and validation tools to ensure consistent execution across markets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Operations or related field; MBA preferred.
• 8–12 years of experience in retail performance management and operations‑excellence transformation.
• Proven track record of diagnosing performance issues and scaling operational solutions.
• Experience working across multiple countries or markets is an advantage.
