Risk and Compliance Manager – Fixed Term (P-4) – Nairobi

About the role

The Risk and Compliance Manager will be based in Nairobi and support UNICEF's Somalia Country Office. Reporting to the Deputy Representative, Operations, the role strengthens risk management, assurance and compliance across a complex humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead risk identification, assessment and mitigation for programme delivery and fiduciary oversight.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF’s risk and compliance frameworks and donor requirements.
• Oversee financial assurance activities, including cash transfer monitoring and partner capacity building.
• Provide regular risk reporting to senior management and support decision‑making.
• Collaborate with partners and internal units to reinforce transparent and accountable programme implementation.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in finance, risk management, international development or a related field.
• Extensive experience in risk and compliance within large, multi‑partner humanitarian or development programmes.
• Proven ability to work in high‑risk, volatile contexts and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with a focus on safeguarding resources.
