Safeguarding Manager – Kenya

About the role

Inkomoko is seeking a Safeguarding Manager for its Kenya operations. The role is central to creating a safe, dignified environment for clients, staff, and partners by embedding safeguarding standards across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a culture of safety by integrating safeguarding into all organizational practices and performance objectives.
• Lead safeguarding awareness and capacity‑building initiatives for staff, partners, and clients, covering the Code of Conduct, policies, reporting mechanisms, and rights.
• Conduct ongoing safeguarding risk assessments for programmes, sites, field activities, partnerships and new expansion locations.
• Implement, monitor, and enforce safeguarding standards in line with international humanitarian best practices.
• Provide training, guidance and technical support on safeguarding issues across all in‑country program sites.
• Collaborate closely with security, HR and program teams for prevention, detection and response to safeguarding concerns.

Required profile

• Proven experience in safeguarding or protection within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of international safeguarding standards, codes of conduct and reporting mechanisms.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and external partners.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills for training and awareness‑raising.
