Sales Representative – FMCG

About the role

Career Directions Limited is recruiting, on behalf of its client, a Sales Representative for the Sales & Marketing department, reporting to the General Trade Head. The role covers all sales operations (field sales, distribution, asset management) within an assigned territory and aims to manage the order-to-cash process so that customer service is maximised from available stock at optimal distribution cost.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve sales volume and value targets through distribution, focusing on sell-in and sell-out, and manage days sales outstanding.
• Liaise with the Sales & Marketing Director on coverage systems for priority channels and ensure the 4Ps (distribution of must-sell SKUs, retail pricing, placement and merchandising) are met.
• Monitor customer performance daily against KPIs such as sales out, inventory levels and on-time orders.
• Execute channel category plans at the point of purchase and support field sales and channel plans with feedback.
• Manage coolers, freezers and other assets, sign customer contracts, maintain an asset register and ensure repairs match the ground reality.
• Provide accurate demand forecasts, computerised coverage reports and value chain pricing information.
• Coach, motivate and develop distributors or a direct sales force.

Required profile

• University degree in Commerce, Economics or Business Administration (with a marketing bias) or equivalent.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience in a fast-moving consumer goods environment.
• Detailed understanding of order generation, delivery, merchandising and account development.
• Pleasant, results-oriented, hardworking team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to finish tasks on time with little or no supervision.

Required skills

• Well versed in MS Office, especially Excel, with demonstrated ability to analyse data and generate reports.
