Senior Accountant – Church Finance

About the role

This senior accounting position supports the financial stewardship of a religious organization, ensuring that donated funds are recorded, monitored, and protected in line with internal controls and ecclesiastical directives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, adjustments, and maintain the general ledger.
• Conduct account reconciliations, clear outstanding items, and review expenditures against budget.
• Assist in preparing financial estimates, expense reports, and basic financial statements.
• Audit project accounts for policy compliance and communicate findings to relevant parties.
• Support and train priesthood leaders and junior accountants on financial procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management.
• Professional membership in bodies such as CPA, ACCA, or CISA.
• Four to six years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting theory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
