Senior Accountant (National Position)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead our national accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with Kenyan regulations. The role involves overseeing financial statements, tax filings, and providing strategic financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, examine and analyse accounting records, financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Compile monthly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain accounting controls, resolve discrepancies and ensure proper recording of revenues and expenses.
• Compute taxes, prepare returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Analyse financial data to advise on business operations, resource utilisation and future revenue projections.
• Assist in managing asset and inventory registers.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognised institution.
• Certified Public Accountant (K) and member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in non‑profit organisations is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to coordinate multiple teams and maintain stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software, preferably Microsoft Navision.
• Computer literacy and advanced Excel skills.
