Senior Manager - Credit Investigations

About the role

Equity Bank is seeking a Senior Manager to lead forensic investigations across its credit portfolio. The role provides strategic direction, oversight and coordination of investigations into credit fraud, lending irregularities and breaches of policy, ensuring thorough and timely outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise investigations into credit fraud, insider lending, documentation and collateral fraud.
• Assign cases to staff, monitor adherence to investigation procedures and ensure professional delivery.
• Review loan documentation, financial statements, customer profiles and transaction histories to identify irregularities.
• Assess compliance with credit policies, regulatory requirements and approved lending procedures.
• Identify control gaps in the credit lifecycle and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide fraud‑awareness training and advisory support to credit and business teams.
• Coordinate with Credit Risk, Legal, Recoveries, Compliance and Business units to resolve fraud‑related matters.
• Prepare investigation reports, disciplinary briefs and prosecution files.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with proven leadership experience in forensic or credit investigations.
• Strong analytical ability to assess loan documentation and detect fraud indicators.
• Excellent knowledge of banking credit policies, regulatory standards and risk management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external legal counsel.
