Senior Programme Management Officer (P5) – UN Nairobi

About the role

The Senior Programme Management Officer provides senior‑level leadership for the Conduct and Discipline Service, supporting the implementation of United Nations standards of conduct and overseeing disciplinary processes across the UN Secretariat.

Key responsibilities

• Implement UN standards of conduct for all categories of personnel.
• Provide strategic and legal advice on internal justice matters and represent the Secretary‑General before the United Nations Dispute Tribunal.
• Handle disciplinary matters, coordinate actions to prevent and respond to unsatisfactory conduct, and support managers in addressing conduct and discipline issues.
• Lead efforts to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse, respond to allegations, ensure remedial actions and provide assistance to victims.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree relevant to programme management, administrative law or a related field.
• Significant experience in programme management within an international or multilateral organization.
• Strong knowledge of UN standards of conduct, internal justice processes and disciplinary procedures.
• Ability to work with senior managers and represent the organization in legal and administrative forums.
