Social Media Video Editor (Short-Form Content)

About the role

The Good Flea is seeking a fast‑paced, culturally aware Video Editor who will turn raw market footage into engaging short‑form content for Instagram, TikTok, Stories and other social platforms. Working closely with the on‑site team in Nairobi, you will be responsible for editing, adding hooks, captions and graphics, and publishing the videos while the moment remains relevant.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review raw footage captured by the on‑site team.
• Edit short‑form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Stories and similar platforms.
• Identify the strongest moments, personalities and products and craft compelling opening hooks.
• Add captions, text overlays, music, sound effects, transitions, graphics and perform basic colour correction.
• Produce same‑day or next‑day edits when required and adapt footage into multiple formats and lengths.
• Maintain a weekly and monthly content timeline, track deadlines, approvals and publishing dates.
• Organise digital assets and coordinate with social media and on‑site teams to ensure needed footage is captured.
• Monitor social media trends, viral formats and platform changes, and apply insights to improve future edits.

Required profile

• Strong portfolio of short‑form social‑media videos.
• Demonstrated experience creating content for Instagram Reels, TikTok or similar platforms.
• Deep understanding of social‑media trends, audience behaviour and platform‑specific formats.
• Excellent sense of pacing, storytelling, hooks and audience retention.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CapCut.
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Proficiency with Final Cut Pro.
• Proficiency with DaVinci Resolve.
