Specialist – Monitoring Evaluation Reporting and Learning (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Specialist – Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting & Learning (MERL) will support the Lead in implementing and continuously improving MERL systems across the Safaricom and M‑PESA Foundations’ programme portfolio. The role ensures that programmes are evidence‑based, results‑oriented and accountable.

Key responsibilities

• Support data collection, analysis, reporting, evaluations and learning initiatives.
• Manage knowledge‑management processes to inform programme improvement and strategic decision‑making.
• Collaborate with programme teams, implementing partners, donors, government agencies and other stakeholders.
• Promote adoption of digital MERL systems and innovative data‑collection methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with Foundation policies, donor requirements and ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Guidelines.

Required profile

• Provide technical expertise in programme performance measurement, data management, research and impact assessment.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to strengthen organisational learning and enhance data quality.
• Support impact assessments and timely reporting of programme results.
• Uphold Safaricom’s culture of purpose, customer obsession, collaboration and innovation.
