Sr. Platform Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to own and evolve our cloud infrastructure. You will treat infrastructure as a product, build an internal developer platform, and bring SRE discipline to our fintech services.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage five AWS accounts across QA, Production, Infra and two additional environments.
• Design, implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform (Terragrunt preferred).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support blue/green and canary deployments.
• Run reliable releases, reduce key‑person risk and lead incident response with blameless post‑mortems.
• Set up monitoring, alerting and define SLIs/SLOs aligned with user journeys.
• Patch, harden and enforce security best practices (least‑privilege IAM, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, MFA).
• Lead infrastructure preparation for high‑traffic TV launch, including autoscaling, capacity planning and runbooks.
• Partner with backend engineers on production issues, JVM tuning, connection pools and memory leaks.
• Architect multi‑region disaster recovery and drive self‑healing capabilities.
• Optimise AWS cost across DynamoDB, Lambda and the broader footprint.
• Establish architectural guardrails with tech leads and mentor engineers as the platform capability grows.

Required profile

• 6+ years hands‑on experience with AWS in production (VPC, IAM, EC2/ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, Route53, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS).
• Production‑grade Terraform experience; Terragrunt a plus.
• Production Kubernetes and Docker experience, specifically EKS.
• Strong CI/CD background (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD) and GitOps practices.
• Deep understanding of infrastructure security (least‑privilege IAM, secrets, patching, vulnerability scanning, MFA).
• Experience building observability from scratch (CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, ELK).
• Solid backend competency in Java (Spring Boot), Python or Node.js and understanding of JVM, concurrency and async systems.
• Comfortable being the senior infrastructure person, self‑directed, opinionated and disciplined about documentation.
• English proficiency at B2/C1 level.
