Technical SEO Intern

About the role

A Technical SEO intern is sought to help improve website visibility and search engine rankings for the business and its clients. The intern works alongside the digital team on audits, keyword strategy and site performance, gaining hands-on experience with real client projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical SEO audits and report on findings.
• Help optimise website structure, speed and overall performance.
• Carry out keyword research and implement it across pages.
• Monitor search engine rankings and track changes.
• Identify and help resolve SEO issues.
• Prepare SEO reports with clear recommendations.
• Support clients with their SEO needs, including explaining results and suggesting improvements.
• Help train and guide team members or clients on SEO basics (an added advantage).

Required profile

• Recently completed a degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, Marketing, Communications or a related field.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of SEO concepts (on-page, off-page, technical SEO).
• Familiarity with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics or SEMrush/Ahrefs, or willingness to learn quickly.
• Added advantage: ability to teach or explain SEO to others, and basic knowledge of HTML, CMS platforms such as WordPress or website performance tools.
