Transportation Accountant

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Transportation Accountant to provide financial support for a U.S. Navy logistics program located on the remote island of Diego Garcia. The role ensures accurate cost tracking, billing validation, and financial reporting for freight and transportation services.

Key responsibilities

• Track transportation costs and reconcile freight invoices.
• Validate shipping documentation and ensure billing accuracy.
• Maintain accurate financial records for cargo movement and transportation services.
• Support budget monitoring, prepare financial reports, and assist with audits.
• Coordinate with logistics personnel to resolve discrepancies and enforce internal controls.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or transportation accounting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining validity and ability to meet contract medical requirements.
• Willingness to work in an austere OCONUS environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using accounting or financial tracking systems.
