Volunteer Accountant for Reproductive Health NGO in Kenya (4‑6 weeks)

About the role

We are seeking a volunteer accountant to support a rights‑based reproductive health NGO in Kenya. Over a 4‑6‑week period you will help strengthen the organisation’s financial management and reporting systems, enabling it to scale its impact for adolescent girls.

Key responsibilities

• Review and re‑validate existing standard operating procedures and the finance manual.
• Recommend and draft updated finance and operations protocols that maintain controls while delegating authority.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to design budgets, migrate them into QuickBooks Online and set up regular budget‑to‑actual variance analysis.
• Develop templates for monthly, quarterly and annual management reports and create automated dashboards for board reporting.
• Examine data‑collection processes and propose improvements to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Professional accounting background with experience in non‑profit financial management.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and budgeting processes.
• Ability to work independently with a small team in a remote or onsite setting.
