Warehouse Implementation Lead

About the role

This position is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for designing, building and stabilising a new centralised warehouse that will serve multi‑country operations across East Africa. The successful candidate will oversee layout design, inventory controls, process implementation and day‑to‑day operational readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop warehouse layouts, storage flow and space optimisation plans.
• Support infrastructure setup and ensure operational readiness.
• Lead the operationalisation and stabilisation of the warehouse.
• Establish inventory control mechanisms including binning, barcoding and counting cycles.
• Create SOPs and process workflows for inbound, storage, picking, dispatch and stock movement.
• Drive stock migration, transition activities and enforce housekeeping and safety standards.
• Monitor KPIs, identify gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 7‑12+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics or supply‑chain operations.
• Proven track record in warehouse implementation, set‑up or operational transformation projects.
• Strong background in inventory management and stock controls.
• Experience in FMCG, retail, logistics, manufacturing, food processing or agri‑business is preferred.
• Exposure to 3PL, bonded or regulated warehouse environments is an advantage.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP or WMS enabled warehouse environments.
• Practical knowledge of inventory control tools such as binning and barcoding.
