Welding Technician – MIG/TIG/Stick Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Welding Technician to join our manufacturing team in Nairobi. You will be responsible for high‑quality MIG, TIG and Stick welding, fabricating and repairing metal components to support production and structural projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform MIG, TIG and Stick welding according to technical drawings and specifications.
• Fabricate, assemble and repair metal parts, ensuring they meet production standards.
• Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models accurately before starting work.
• Set up welding machines, adjust voltage, amperage, wire feed and gas flow for optimal performance.
• Inspect welds for defects, conduct quality checks and rectify any issues.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on welding equipment and maintain a clean, safe workshop.
• Adhere to occupational health and safety regulations, using proper PPE and handling gases safely.
• Document work performed, material usage and report progress to supervisors.

Required profile

• Diploma in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Certified Welder (e.g., AWS, CWB) preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a welding technician.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is advantageous.
