Account Manager (French Speaking) - Remote
OpenFn
Job description
About the role
OpenFn is a digital public good for public service automation and AI orchestration, helping governments and NGOs deliver public services more efficiently. It is hiring its first Account Manager, a remote, relationship-driven role reporting to the Head of Growth. The Account Manager owns the full portfolio of existing subscription customers, is responsible for their retention, satisfaction and growth, and helps build the account management function from scratch.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of existing subscription customers, building multi-threaded relationships with day-to-day users and senior decision-makers.
- Develop account plans linking each customer's objectives to the value delivered, and run Quarterly Business Reviews and regular check-ins.
- Be technically fluent: understand how customers use the platform, talk credibly with technical teams about integrations and data workflows, and spot adoption risks early.
- Own gross and net retention, forecast renewals and manage the end-to-end renewal process, and proactively recover at-risk accounts.
- Pursue growth opportunities such as tier upgrades and cross-selling, and negotiate renewals and expansions.
- Ensure a smooth handoff from sales and implementation, monitor product usage, and act as the customer's voice internally.
- Coordinate with support and implementation teams to meet SLAs, manage escalations, and help migrate customers from legacy project-based arrangements to the new subscription model.
- Build the account management function: playbooks, cadences, health scoring, CRM data and reporting, and set up the subscription model.
Required profile
- 3-7+ years in account management, customer success or a related commercial role at a SaaS or subscription business.
- Track record of retaining and growing customers, including renewals, forecasting and upsell/expansion.
- Experience with a technically substantive product and genuine technical fluency (APIs, integrations, data exchange).
- Fluent, professional-level English and French (written and verbal).
- Self-starter able to build as well as execute, working from home or a shared office with fast, stable internet, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Required skills
- CRM proficiency; preferred: Salesforce or Odoo.
- Running QBRs, service reviews and success planning.
- Preferred: experience moving businesses to a subscription model, a technical background, and experience with government, NGO or public sector customers.
What we offer
- Base salary plus variable pay tied to retention and growth of the portfolio.
- Fully remote, flexible schedule, with team meetups across Europe and Africa.
