Area Manager – Marsabit County

About the role

The Area Manager will lead Concern Worldwide’s programmes in Marsabit County, overseeing technical quality, day‑to‑day implementation and coordination with local authorities and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership for programme implementation, ensuring alignment with donor guidelines and Concern policies.
• Develop and manage costed work plans, recruitment and procurement plans, and monitor budgets and expenditures.
• Coordinate with County health, water and education departments and implementing partners to deliver integrated interventions.
• Lead, mentor and build capacity of field officers (Health & Nutrition, WASH, Education) and manage performance.
• Monitor programme performance, conduct reviews, capture lessons learned and adapt strategies as needed.
• Ensure compliance with cross‑cutting issues such as gender, protection, conflict sensitivity and accountability to affected populations.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multi‑sector humanitarian programmes at a senior level.
• Strong ability to work with government structures, donors and implementing partners.
• Experience in budgeting, financial monitoring and reporting.
• Capacity to travel up to 50% of the time within Marsabit County.
